 Reception of Channels not good. August 30, 2010

I had a digital antenna that was getting about 12 channels. I had to move the antenna always depending on what station I was viewing. I purchased this RCA antenna because it was to be multi - directional so I thought that would solve my problem It was very nice in appearance and easy to install. I tried it with both the amplifier and without and to my dismay I could only get four(4)channels to come in. So the multi-directional feature did not work for me. I tried different positions but nothing seemed to work and I had to go back to my old antenna which did a nice job of 12 channels. With the RCA the picture was clear and I feel it is not a bad product, just one that did not live up to my expectations.

I have tried many different Indoor TV antennas with out much luck. This one got most of the stations I wanted. We are about 25 miles outside of Chicago where the TV stations are.

Before installing this antenna, I received only one channel on my TV. I can now get at least a dozen. I found that the positioning of the antenna is crucial. The directions are very helpful.

have had this unit for about one month now. it was purchased for use in an area about 30 miles from the nearest DTV stations. it works as good or better than the cheaper unit it replaced, and i've not yet tried to use the amplified signal. i will do that when i connect an hdtv later. right now its connected to a set-top converter box.
