Amazon.com Product Description The high-performance HDTVa amplified indoor HDTV antenna from Terk Technologies is designed to capture both UHF and VHF signals (channels 2 to 69) while extending the reception range for all local HDTV broadcasts. The HDTVa uses an ultra-low-noise, high-gain amplifier with Terk's exclusive Dual-Drive Amplifier technology for clear reception of both distant and close HDTV and DTV stations. As suitable for those living in city apartments as for those in suburban homes, the compact HDTVa lets viewers experience HDTV broadcasts in full resolution. Designed for total reception versatility, the HDTVa's high-gain antenna array can be oriented either horizontally or vertically within its mounting base to achieve optimum capture of off-air broadcasts. Set the amplifier to high-gain mode to compensate for signals that are too weak or might otherwise be bypassed for a stronger signals nearby. Simplifying your installation, the HDTVa uses Terk's Power Injector to derive power via its coaxial connecting cable. The result? One cable is all you have to connect, making it easy to install the HDTVa atop or near your television. The antenna is engineered to receive all local HDTV channels, with an operating bandwidth covering both the VHF (channels 2 to 13) and UHF (channels 14 to 69) frequency ranges. Its highly directional log periodic UHF and precision VHF elements are designed to receive HDTV broadcasts with maximum signal strength while rejecting all or most interference. The HDTVa is as exceptional in appearance as it is in performance: its curved, tapering, polished-aluminum antenna elements are mounted in a slim base with a contoured front that visually complements the curve of the antenna elements. What's in the Box Antenna with integrated 75-ohm cable, instruction manual, and warranty information.

Terk HDTVa Indoor Antenna September 4, 2010 Christmas Bear I have tried two other antenna's from different manufacturers only to be disappointed with reception. Terk's is the only antenna that was able to give me excellent reception once it was set up according to directions. Excellent product!
HDTVa vs. Metal hanger September 3, 2010 E. Sharon (Irvine, CA) I have a pretty decent 1080p HDTV. most local HD stations are in close proxmity to my apartment(15miles) but some stations are 50-80 miles away.
I was using a very cheap wire solution before and been able to receive only 7 stations.
After installing Terk's HDTVa, my TV tuner was able to get a lock on a total of 20(!) stations. which cover all Green, Yellow and even some RED(!) mapped stations - based on FCC's reception maps([...])
Selection is limited yes, but quality is higher than Comcast, that's for sure, because there's no lousy mpeg compression.
I did the math, Over the air TV plus Netflix steaming is more than sufficient to our needs and $50-70 cheaper on our monthly bills.
However, if you own/rent a house, I would warmly recommnd to install an external antenna that can extend the range significantly while being lot less prone to interferences.
Good Antenna August 30, 2010 T. Smith (STL, MO) This is my first OTA Antenna but it works just like it is described. I get 12 channels total, but only 5 or 6 are worth watching. The Antenna is very big and does stick out, so when I have people over and I know I will not be using it I simply push down the rods and take off the Antenna and store it. It takes less then a minute to do this so it is very convenient! Overall I am pleased with this purchase and I would recommend the product.
indoor antenna that works August 29, 2010 silver eagle Could use heavier base to improve stability. Nevertheless, it receives vhf and uhf signals as advertised. May require directional positioning depending on variety of broadcast origins but that's a simple task. I have tried other antennas but some of them did not account for broadcasters using vhf so this model covers both options.
Cable no more August 26, 2010 frankd (Sycamore, IL United States) I get channels that are 60 miles away with this amazing antenna. It's odd looking and somewhat large, but it works great. The amplification really makes a difference. My HDTV is located on the second floor, so elevation has something to do with it. Won't work in a basement, but find a good spot for it and you can say goodbye to cable bills.
